Hyon (pronounced "Hyee-yon") is a brutal, aggressive warrior. He's the brother of the queen of his clan (hyena clans are female-dominated), and when I first introduced him he was a villain hell-bent on killing his sister and taking the throne. While I forgot what happened along the way (I wrote this story back in 2005 and had no idea what I was doing or where to find my original writing to read it over...), but he eventually reconciles with his sister and takes his rightful place as the head warrior of the clan.
While he doesn't fit the definition of "hero", he is no longer considered an antagonist once he rejoins his clan. Even after that, he is still quite the loner, and quick to anger and go on the offensive.

His sword is a massive steel blade, requiring two hands to wield effectively. It is quite useful for taking down enemies, whether prey or rival predator. I actually scaled the sword down a bit from its original dimensions to make it practical, it was initially a bit longer and broader but that seemed impractical and overblown to me.
