Cosmic Cell

Lone Companion

Doodled this on the commercial breaks of the new Cosmos episode 11, "The Immortals."
Which you aught to go watch before it expires on the site: http://www.cosmosontv.com/watch/256286787977
And you'll know what inspired this.

I miss my science classes.

Cellular Biology... made a cell out of clay and glazed it, for 9th grade biology. We also ground up chicken livers in that class to extract DNA...and the teacher had us wash the left over liver matter down the drains.... the room smelled like rotting chicken livers for a week or two. Sidney was also born in that class; I took a piece of paper off the overhead projector stand, and produced the first picture of him I ever made.

Then 7th grade...

One of the fondest memories of my youth, probably being the Pet in Life Science. Mr, C., I remember your class. Wonder if you're still alive, you were old. What were you, like 70? You were one tough teacher. I got the highest score on your 300 question test in the 40 years you taught. I missed 3. You cried on stage when you announced that; that was the last year you taught; were retiring. You were my favorite teacher I ever had. I had a nearly eidetic memory for your class. Are you still alive?

Man, I am WAY too far behind on Cosmos. Gotta catch up.

I missed a few due to being at my folks place and one day I felt like crap and stayed in bed. I have trouble catching everything when I watch them with other people around because everything that moves or make a noise distracts me. Pretty much accepted from the getgo I'd need to watch the whole thing with the series comes out on a set. I like doing things in one big chunk. Sit down and have a marathon. Can pause and write/pause to think/pause to let OCd go, because watching anything I can't pause, OCD makes me miss stuff.
