Oh dip, it's the YeeHan Pokemon AU (loosely based off Detective Pikachu) that I'm still blaming Kannibal for!! These are just designs along with their endgame Pokemon teams :P

I don't even remember how we got here, but we did and I'm working to write some fic for this! I'll info dump some background/plot for y'all in the meantime tho:

Cassidy is a Pokemon Hunter from the Orre region, where wild Pokemon are non-existent and there's no Gym system, League or anything. Folks actually have to IMPORT their Pokemon from other regions at high cost and so they're a target of gangs like Team Snagem (renamed Deadlock here because REASONS) and terrorist group Cipher. Cole was a poor kid, part of Deadlock until Leader Ashe teamed up with Cipher to widen their power and reach, so he headed out for other regions, hunting rare/shiny Pokemon for a profit 'cause that's all he was good at without a Pokemon team of his own.

Hanzo is the former Dragon Champion of the Johto League, having held the title for years before suddenly abandoning his post and home in the wake of his younger brother's """disappearance""" whilst battling the League. He's sworn off battling altogether, instead travelling the regions to get away from his status and reputation, with only his Pokemon team for company (twin Gyrados, a Dragonair, his mother's Altaria, a Garchomp, and a Larvitar hatched from Genji's Tyranitar egg clutch). He's currently hiding out in rural Galar, the furthest place he can go from Johto, living his days as a sad hobo man.

Cassidy is in Galar hunting regional versions of Pokemon (and maybe using that as an excuse to track down rumours of Deadlock spreading to this cold, wet-ass island) when he crosses paths with a very young, powerful and untrained Munna that registers him as BIG DANGER and unleashes a psychic attack on him. This causes him to be placed in the body of a nearby Nickit, leaving only Peacekeeper and his hat behind.

Cassidy, absolutely confused and with no idea what to do in this tiny four-legged body he now has, is left helpless when attacked by a Corviknight that takes one of his legs during the scuffle. Thankfully, he's saved by a wondering trainer whose Altaria refuses to leave the bleeding kit behind

Hanzo doesn't want to deal with Pokemon Centres or housing a weird Pokemon that'll probably die on him, but something about the Nickit persuades him. He also finds Cassidy's things and takes them, thinking they belong to the trainer that abandoned this Nickit that's not nearly afraid enough of humans to be wild. As he hands it all over to the nurses at the centre, he's informed that he's found the outlaw Cole Cassidy's belongings - the man that has been found guilty of assaulting Chairman Rose and the League members, stealing powerful artefacts and valuable Pokemon from the Vaults.

Hanzo now has to deal with an injured weird af Nickit, press attention he hasn't had in a decade, a region-wide investigation that he wants no part of but is dragged in to anyway, as well as strange dreams of him - as a shiny Arcanine like his father's - travelling through the desert with a one-armed cowboy that can't speak oooooo

As for Genji SPOILERS: Genji is believed to be dead by Hanzo, or a reckless runaway by most of Johto who don't know what happened - which is that Genji defeated the Elite Four and was up against Hanzo for the Champion title, but their battle got so heated and dangerous that they caused the buildings to collapse - which Hanzo escaped by leaving Genji behind in the chaos. In the aftermath, he couldn't find his brother and authorities were talking about bringing out the bodies that were being found, including one green-haired figure underneath a crushed Tyranitar.

Hanzo left the site thinking he'd killed Genji and under all that guilt, as well as not being able to live with the consequences of his Champion status covering up the incident to save the League's reputation, he started his nomadic life far away from home.

Unknown to Hanzo, however, Genji's Tyranitar had actually saved his life by covering him from the debris at the cost of her own. He was put under the care of Doctor Ziegler and her Audino, and was left with them as his only living kin, Hanzo, was unable to be tracked down.

As a result of his injuries, Genji was forced to retire as a trainer and pissed as h*ck at Hanzo, blaming him for everything going wrong that day and vowing to hunt the mofo down. On this journey, he climbs Mount Silver and meets a certain monk...

Fast forward to the present and he's still looking to find out where his brother disappeared to, when he sees a news story all the way from Galar featuring a familiar face and an even more familiar Pokemon team
