I'm using CS6, and I just go to the gradient panel and click on one of the color stop squares, and at the bottom of the panel there's an opacity dropdown so you can make it whatever you want. The square still needs to be set to a certain color, but when I'm doing color-to-transparent gradients I just set both colors the same and make one 100% opacity and the other 0%. Does that help C'8
what version are you using? I'm sure all versions can do it but there could be some differences
ah thank you. i'm using cs5.
hmm, well there's the dropdown square menu in the gradient tab that allows me to do a transparent gradient, but it kinda leaves a faint but noticable pixely outline around the color part.. also the opacity/location dropdowns are greyed out.
It sounds like yours is pretty similar to mine. For me, the preset dropdown square is near the top of the menu, and around the middle of the menu is a slider thing with your color stops on it. The location and opacity options under it are always grayed out until I click on a stop, but then they light up and let me pick once I click on the stop I want to edit.
I have no idea what to do about the outline thing, all I can imagine is it's a silly thing with the specific gradient you're picking out. I never use presets because I never noticed them until you pointed them out just now hpbhtbht
Hoooooly crap, you did this in illustrator?! jesus H - that's fantastic! I have such difficulty with getting that programme to do what I want, and this is so soft and masterfully done, It's very impressive :3

super nice! very nice shades and everything looks so smooth and nice ahh..
i can't seem to figure out how to make a gradient that fades into transparency, instead of another color. could you briefly go over it, or direct me to a tutorial? all the ones i've found are for old versions of illustrator, heh
