I never expected to meet such a wonderful specimen in the forest when I was hiking throung the forest. See, Volatikai, especially wild one, avoid humans or attack them. I found that little pup lying on the grass covered of blood and about to die. The poor thing had fainted way before I decided to approach it, after all volatikai's child are often protected by their parent, but his mother probably abandonned him as she know he was too weak to survive.

I took off my coat and bringed him at my place. Since I did many operations on dogs I know he might have a chance to survive. Luckily I wasn't far from my home so the pup didn't loose too much blood, other else I wouldn't have been able to help the poor thing.

His throat was opened and his right leg lacerated. That wild pup was a lucky one, his carotid wasn't damaded and I was able to close the wounds with my first aid kit. I did what I could to save him from a certain death and it was now his fight to survive and heal from his wounds...

Worked on this between some commission I'm so happy I finally managed to finish it ! I sketched that short comic strip ( really short XD) last week and I couldn't wait to finish this drawing !

So here's Nikolaï my mountain volatikai as a young pup. Niko have been raised like every wild volatikai and wild life is rude. To force his mother to reproduce, a male decided to simply get rid of her pup.

The young volatikai was about to die when a veterinari find him and decided to take care of him. The pup wasn't pleased at all to wake up in a strange place and meet a human for the first time of his life.

He was quite scare, confused and REALLY angry about the fact he loosed he couldn't find his mother. He wasn't fully independant yet and unable to survive on it's own. The veterinary decided to keep him and raise him as his child (I could tell you it was a rough time for him)
