As she sank deeper and deeper, the world became darker and darker. Normally, the young alien princess could breath underwater; However, this water was different. It was much darker, and it smothered her in a different way. She felt it most in her chest, a darkness, so heavy, pumping fire through her veins. The thing is, she wouldn't die right away. It would be slow, an agonizing. She would lose herself, stuck at the bottom of the Ocean of Darkness without a hope of rescue.
My friend Jennifer sketched me up a gift last year when I said I felt like I was drowning in darkness, during a recent visit, she found the sketch again and gave it to me. I took a few hours to digitize it, and this is the final product.
