These little fish inhabit seasonal flooded forests of North-Western Lician. The males sport incredibly long, shiny fins that they flare to attract mates and warn off competitors. These long fins create a lot of drag and weight the males down, so females are drawn to the males that thrive despite this handicap! Eggs are laid and hatch during the flood season, when the waters are full of aquatic insects. Come mid-summer the forests dry out. Many of these fish do not make it back to the river as flood waters dry up. Dragon and vora with large enough aquariums often rescue these trapped fish to keep.
