The mainframe is Nef's largest shard-- a monstrous, bloated horror that burrows into the hearts of dying planets, slowly hollowing them out from the inside and mutating everything into new, alien lifeforms.

It's said that destroying it may be the only way to destroy Nefirian themself, and all of their other shards in the process.

Needless to say, nobody's actually managed that yet.

(I am still kicking myself for the thiiick lineart this ended up with, but these were mostly a series I drew up to see how quickly/easily I could manage it. I'll probably redraw a similar scene later when I've got more time AND PATIENCE to spare.)
