Battery Constriuction No. 129 by Lee Kittaj

Battery Constriuction No. 129

Lee Kittaj

This WWII battery overlooking the Golden Gate was never finished due to the Pacific Front taking a turn in favor of the allies. At that point, leaders were sure there would be no Japanese attacks on the west coast. The 16-inch caliber guns that would have sat in this trench would have fired 2,100lb shells and been able to hit ships 26 miles out at sea.
