The Tuurasucha - 3D Printed Model

LeccathuFurvicael

I found that I had some credit on my Shapeways account, and so decided to see how my creature model would look in reality!

This is printed in White Strong and Flexible Polished plastic, and the resolution isn't all that great, but you can at least see some scale patterns. This particular model is also the more expensive, and larger of the two variants available in my Shapeways shop. I now have a better idea of what will and won't be as successful when ordering models through Shapeways. The best way to learn is to do! ;p

Interesting! This is really helpful for me too, I've been thinking about doing some shapeways stuff. About how much was this one if you don't mind?

This model was $167.09, and sadly, if I didn't have that credit to my account, I wouldn't have purchased it - the quality isn't all that great for the price that it is. I hope to find a better way to print things for a more reasonable price. It has been worth it just for the learning experience, though! Now I know how this critter looks in real life with Shapeways' printing abilities and limitations.

      Thanks for asking. ^^

Awesome. always wondered how they were. Only printer I've ever used was one at the university.

Same - last year I was able to get the male 3-tail printed in a powder printer, and it turned out quite nice. : )

      Thanks for the comment!

Thinking of getting one of those table top printers. Just living in fear of that day I need to make a continuous piece thats like a quarter of an inch too long for it....
