Carnotaurus Mini-Sculpt

LeccathuFurvicael

This is my first foray into Super Sculpey Firm clay, and I have to say I am really pleased with how it works! In normal Sculpey that tail would be much more abused and malformed, and little details do stick in the clay much more nicely. I can't wait to use it for my future projects, and will certainly be using it in tandem with my normal Super Sculpey,

What better critter to sculpt than one of my favorite dinosaurs ever, and a inspirational progenitor of my Romanian Three-Tail species? <3 T-Rexes have nothing on abelisaurids in the little arms department XD.

I am considering painting this little guy, and selling it. I imagine it to be around $7 unpainted, and $9 painted.

Media: Super Sculpey Firm clay, no armature
Dimensions: 1.7 x 1.3 x 1.05 inches (l/w/h)
Time: ~1 1/2 hours
Art by and copyright © Stephanie Dziezyk 2014.

Anybody else remember this guy from the Jurassic Park/Lost World arcade shooter, where he turns invisible? Awesome dinosaur, and a good sculpture.

I think I may have seen bits of that game, or maybe even played it once upon a time, but it sure sounds familiar! ^^ Thank you very much!

Very nice! The little guy does seem to defy gravity, in terms of Sculpey physics. :D I don't usually put a lot of consideration in hard clays whenever I get around to working with traditional media, but the way you've summarized your experience makes me more interested, since I usually like making little creatures, too. Always made me sad to open the oven and find some drooped over. :( lol

I agree! This guy has no armature support whatsoever, and I was thinking that it was going to sink into its own legs far more than it was before putting it in the oven. I love this clay!! I can't wait to try it out with larger sculpts. <3

Thanks for your comment! : )
