Inebrious

LeccathuFurvicael

Drew this during the exceedingly rare moment where I was tipsy on alcohol, and with a group of friends of friends, and as such was feeling very unsociable. My conditioned response to unwanted social interaction in a large group? Drawing! I haven't drawn something this complex in a while, and it is a fascinating look into my psyche, personally.

Media: .05 2B mechanical pencil on printing paper

I always have such a hard time when I'm stuck with people that I'm not familiar with, but I do the exact same thing you do and draw, haha.

This design is really quite neat and interesting. Was it somewhat premeditated or was it entirely a "stream of consciousness" sort of sketch?

Very much a stream of consciousness sketch, and somewhat aided by the hard cider I had :p

Glad to hear I'm not alone on the social drawing phenomenon! ^^

I figured as much, haha. Also a fellow hard cider fan! It's my go-to drink if spirits aren't available, especially in bars since I'm not a big fan of beer.

Definitely. I've been wanting to get a smaller sketchbook that I can take any time I go out since I've found myself without paper and bored in social gatherings one too many times.

Oh, sweet!! : D Most people around here give me 'um...okay' looks when I order my preference of hard cider, but to hell with them! XP

Yay for small sketchbooks! I had forgotten mine for the Pittsburgh trip, so I opted for pieces of printer paper folded in half.

Pff, clearly their tastebuds cannot comprehend alcoholic flavor outside of hops so they aren't worth it anyway!

Hey, printer paper still works. At least it's paper one way or another! Imagine being so desperate you have to resort to drawing on the napkins or coasters (speaking from unfortunate experience).

This is a pretty nice sketch for the time it took, and a good reminder how liberating it can be to let the ideas flow freely. Monstahrs!

Thank you so much! I need to seriously let myself get these crazy-ass creatures out of my head once in a while, for sure - my brain gets awfully cramped otherwise!
