I was really disappointed with Alister's role. The second he said "Just like your father" I was like "Oh, great! My confused friend is the end-game boss" ;(

Imagine how Ratchet felt, when he knew at some point, all Alister wanted was his friend back, to redeem himself, yet he wasn't suppose to mess with the other lombax. Ratchet felt deep for him, and as such, probably (despite insomniac' s complete lack of emotional range ) felt damn torn up inside...
Alister, at the end.....finally realized, albeit too late, that what he did was a huuuuge mistake. He did what he had to. Which was sacrifice himself.
Not saying you didn't know all this, I tend to think my thoughts aloud XD
