I'm curious now about whether Ethan actually has some intuitive ability to tell when people are trustworthy, or if he just has a habit of trusting random strangers for no reason. Or possibly both.

He's got more experience than would appear to be evident, but the Oracles are generally peaceful folks, though there aren't many of them left compared to ages past.

Yeah, I'm with @Chrysalis on this one. But then, I'm not sure if Ethan is big-hearted, or just small-brained. Rhodes probably has the same reservations...

Well, she is a lone woman in the forest with no obvious weapons. :) The Oracles are a group that generally has a peaceful reputation, though Ethan also has a soft spot for ladies. :) His background is intended to be somewhat worldly, but perhaps not one used to social convention.
