Shattered Dreams and Selkie Wings by Lady Willow

Shattered Dreams and Selkie Wings

Lady Willow

My Selkie King, my Selkie King.

Take me from my shattered dreams.

The tears I've shed, the screams I've screamed,

You heard me in my broken dreams.

Lost and adrift, I find my soul,

tattered and torn, and never whole.

Bruised and battered, shredded and shorn,

My heart, it bleeds forever more.

Your wings protect me from the storms,

Your light it shines to one so worn.

My Selkie King, my Selkie King,

Take me to the world of Dreams.

Lift me high into the sky,

Or bring me deep beneath the sea.

The love we share, the life we lead,

Will ever be my one fair dream.

My Selkie King, my Selkie King,

Take me from my shattered dreams.

Take my heart and take my soul.

I give them freely, they are yours.

My Selkie King, My Selkie King,

Take me to the land of Dreams.

My Selkie King, my Selkie King,

Help me mend my shattered dreams.

-Elizabeth Fern Shields 4/8/13

First poem I've written in years.

To clear up some confusion: I'm aware that most Selkies don't have wings. But mine does. In this picture, he has shed his seal skin to rescue the drowning cat from the ravages of the unforgiving sea. His 'human' form has long pointed ears and wings. In his Selkie form, his wings are covered by the magical seal skin.
