Come on in and share my table,
sit yourself down for a while.
Now my friend if you are able,
would you share with us a smile?
Or perhaps you have a story,
do you have a tale to tell?
Is it full of your own glory,
and how you faced down hell?
Join us here, no more a stranger.
Whether near or far from home.
Welcome here, you can now linger,
Before your heart calls you to roam.
You are welcome beyond our door,
Come on in, stranger no more.
I wrote this originally as an inscription for an inn, but I find it resonating in my heart for my own hearth. If you are wayward tossed and lost, come on in and share what little we have to share. You are always welcome at my table.
