Summer Tsukuyomi 2016 CGHQ

Kyanbu

And it's finished. This was intended be released during the summer but things didn't quite go as planed as I spent weeks studying Scene composition and coloring planning. Regardless this was part of my training to reduce tangents and improve scene composition and color planning. And improved Hue shifting to really bring out the colors more and produce more appealing lights and shadows then my usual work. Using something relatively simple in terms of theme (summer pinup). Everything was carefully planned out to guide the viewer through the image. All future works will be done this way regardless of them. Though in doing so I wonder if I've gone a bit too far them wise.

This CG started as digital sketch drawn by hand using my Wacom Tablet and the Brush tool on GIMP 2.6. The Fur Color, Bikini Coloring, Fur and hair Texturing, and Rendering are all done by hand with the brush tool. The background boardwalk was drawn by hand with the brush tool, straighten out with the Eraser tool shift control. The lines for the planks were created it the pin tool and brush tool. With each plank textured and rendered with the brush tool. The posts and fencing in the background were drawn using both the brush tool and eclipse tools. Duplicated via copy/paste and touched up and rendered individually using the brush tool. The Beach sand was drawn using the rectangle select tool and textured/rendered by hand using the brush tool. Same goes for the ocean, it a blue to teal gradient and a copy/paste of the sky flipped and placed down over top of it with the opacity reduced to 49.8% to give it a reflective look. (probably not the best way to go about this). The sky is also gradient from sky blue to a desaturated light blue, with the clouds drawn and rendered by hand. The drop shadows were drawn by hand with the Opacity reduced to 49.8% and a bit of blurring. The background sand and ocean were gaussian blurred along with the posts and fencing. And the boardwalk wooden planks were blurred by hand using the blur tool.

Total Layers used: 123 with no masks used. I'm trying to keep the layer count down as much as I can. So expect this number to start dropping more and more with each new piece. with things being grouped together on a single layer more and fewer guideline layers.

As for information on my character "Kazumi". That can be found here: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/1189307/moonlit-goddess-tsukuyomi-2015-cghq
