The panther-breed female, Turntail, has been abandoned by her companion Shellback, and is forced to face the wrath of the Keepers alone. Badly wounded, lost, exhausted and terrified, she cannot outrun the guards of the IMPAC.

Meanwhile, faced with a catastrophic loss, Sharptooth's team needs to overcome their differences and work together to stitch their existence back together. But a surprise awaits them all.
