A commission for Artherion

Bigger... Blacker... Squeakier. I don't know why he doesn't already exist, but hopefully I can play a small part in bringing everyone's favorite giant magic-absorbing black dragon into reality. This was loosely inspired by a certain parade balloon animation, with a few details and elements changed to make them a bit easier to manufacture at realistic scales. Specifically, they don't have separate digits in order to cut down on complex welds and the permagrin was nixed since I can't get it to look good in my art style.

3.5m (11'6") is a minimum size. The maximum achievable size is probably 7m (23'), primarily because of the weight of that much 0.4mm soft vinyl. The similarity of this figure to the longest dimension of my last two apartments is purely coincidental, but a 7m toy weighs around 32kg (70lb). The final size of this toy comes down to how big Kael's next apartment is.

You've probably already seen the version of Ori derived from this design, I have other projects I need to get to first (and might be moving to a differently-shaped apartment) but I'm hoping to do something with everyone's floppy-eared blue titan at some point in the future...
