Mega Plush Pliosaur by KronoGarrett

Mega Plush Pliosaur

KronoGarrett

A dangerously cuddly 44.1lb (20kg) prehistoric marine reptile. All stretchy premium fleece, hand-painted eyes. Somewhere far beyond the normal realm of softness, if I get any more giant plushies like this my bed will collapse into a singularity of comfort from which even the loudest alarm will fail to rouse sleepers. I found some really nice Marvy Uchida Deco Fabric paint that can be heat-cured with an iron and survive machine washing and tumble drying.

Length: 93” (236cm)
Fin Span: 66” (168cm)
Girth: 92” (234 cm)

The thought process was: Surely I can modify the design for an inflatable to make a cuddly plush. Simplify some of that surface detail, add complex surface topology, convert cross section to circumference, carve a head and duct tape pattern it...and away you go. Worked for the hydralisks, right?

If I decide to make more of these, they'll be around $1200 US. I grossly underpriced the giant Godzilla, this took about 48 hours of feverish labor to produce and at a fair going rate...well, now I know why other people charge so much for plush commissions. I also need to use stabilizer when appliquing...oh boy, it's really a pain getting the fabric to behave if you're doing anything other than a satin stitch in a straight line. Also the machine will sometimes stop feeding and produce a giant knot of thread...

Karsaku, if you're reading this, I'd love the chance to make Barukaa for you once my fingers recover.
