Her name is Luka Vega. She is also Liza Maroon's cousin.

Here's a short story. I am not a good writer. There may be common tropes that have been used in stories many times.

Her mother died shortly after giving birth to her. She was abused as a child by her father, Liza's uncle. Liza was the only one who knew of this yet no one believed her since she was known to have an active imagination as a child and her uncle had wealth and power on his side to manipulate people to his will. He would say she had fallen or ran into various things. Naturally this would not work on Liza's innocent, child mind.

Unfortunately, Liza would later move away with her family in a "hopeful" attempt to quell any ideas that her uncle was a monster. Luka had lost the one person who believed her and left to live in her personal hell where no one listened to her.

This abuse continued on into her 20s. She had ran away from hell as a teenager and found a family who family initially seemed like the rescue she needed. It was all fine at first: Luka had finally made it through high school, but, on occasion, the husband of her new family would sometimes drink to much and would resort to beating on the already vulnerable Luka. Why she didn't leave after the first time it happened, no one knows.

About to start college, she had found a boy she felt was the one. But as luck would have it, he too had abusive tendencies. As much as he tried to control them, his temper was too short. Around this time, she found out that Liza was at the same college she was attending, studying mechanical engineering.

Seeing the bruises of the past 20 years Luka had endured was a heavy sight for Liza to see. The two cousins embraced; Luka finally had the one person she could trust back into her world.

The character concept was heavily inspired from Suzanne Vega's song "Luka." Did I initially intend for her to be a relation to Liza? Not entirely, but I happened to have the song playing while looking through my gallery to think of what to do next and just happened to be fixated on Liza and figured it was time for another kangaroo in the mix and it just happened to be a family relative to Liza. Tried some new things while making her. New year, new style right XD?
