Heavy Is The Crown by KonekoCloud

Heavy Is The Crown

KonekoCloud

I've gotten into reading the Warrior Series as of the beginning of the year, I enjoyed the Prequel series Dawn of the Clans and have been trying to get through the books of the "The Prophecies Begin" story arc books for the series where we first meet characters like Rusty turn Firepaw and then Fireheart upon getting his Warrior name.

And the treacherous Deputy, Tigerstar; a blossoming romance between rival clans between Greystripe of Thunderclan and Silverstream of River Clan.

While introducing a beautifully strong leader in Bluestar of ThunderClan.

I found the song "The Cost of the Crown" by Mercedes Lackey and while listening to it over and over because the tune is so beautiful, I found myself reflecting on Bluestar. The proud, strong, wise leader of ThunderClan who has to hide she has on her last Life given to her by StarClan after fighting a bout of Green Cough. She was the first one to take in a Kitty Pet to her Clan of Warriors and felt that he was the one that Leafpool had spoken that was prophesied that "Fire can save the Clan".
But with that strong willed leadership she holds, she has to watch over all and everyone, while forgoing her own joys and happiness.

I'm still learning about her, so please, if I am in the wrong with describing her that she has no family or kits due to she has to be a Leader first and having Kits are not in the cards, as we saw with WindRunner turn Windstar in the end of Dawn of the Clans and even more prevelant in Moth Wing's Flight. Because you can't be a parent while also being a Leader when you have to worry about your little ones while possibly putting the Clan's safety in danger.

The words written on the art are taken from the song itself.

I found my love for the series through a series of Warriors MAPs (Multi Animator Projects) on YouTube where its hand drawn fan animations set to music. Just watching them about the characters got me wanting to know more about the books. And for my b-day my husband got me the first half of the book set for the prequel series which is the Dawn of the Clans which sets up the series in a way by introducing the cats who are considered the first leaders of 5 Clans all based off their names like "Thunder" for Thunder Clan "Clear Sky" is for Sky Clan, "Wind Star" for Wind Clan, "River Ripple" for River Clan, "Tall Shadow" for Shadow Clan. And in one of the Super Editions, which is a stand alone tale, you find out why in the main books of "The Prophecies Begin" series why the Leaders don't have children, and why the Healer of the group "Medicine Cats" don't have kits soon. Due to its a position of having to worry about not only their own, but also the well being of their Clan mates. Its a really interesting series that is mainly for young adults but I'm 30 and I'm reading 'em XD Kinda like I was in H.S. I was into the Redwall series

I've heard really good things about those books. And yes, Redwall is awesome! The first book I ever read from the Redwall series was Martin the Warrior. It is still my favorite one.

Redwall still holds a huge love in my heart since I got into when I was in H.S. XD Since I randomly came across the cartoon on PBS Kids during H.S. and still trying to get my collection together w/the Redwall books. Warriors is starting to hold that same place that Redwall is. Especially since you start to find yourself connecting with the characters and when you find something has happened to a character or your favorite or a minor character dies in some way or another, your heart becomes crushed. I've kind spoiled some parts of the books due to MAPs on YouTube based off the Warrior books so in a way I know something that's coming, but there are some parts that are I'm like, "No clue yet what's going on, but I will get to that book!" XD Heck, my Christmas and bday wish lists for a while now is to get the other book box sets for Warriors so I can catch up since they've started a new story Story Arc called "Vision of Shadows" so its been hard for me to catch up since I'm limited on time to read with studying to become a Nursing Student.
