A beautiful bust commission by kathy-lu
In the civilized courts and cities of the domestic cats, there's always something going on. Even though cats don't tend to stomp about, there's conversations out loud and whispered at the furthest perception of keen ears, work going on in offices and forges, shops and stables , doors opening and closing, never much of a moment of silence.
Kendra's friend Koda the lynx is used to the peace of more natural settings, Kendra less so. It looks like he's taken her on a trip further from the cities than usual this time, perhaps closer to his own homeland. She, being an Abyssinian, is dressed warmly for the cooler air, and she seems to be having a moment of wonder. A "Wait, no, just...let me listen..." moment. The silence but for the lapping of water on a lake's shore, the occasional patter of a leaf drifting to the ground in the fall, a distant bird's cry, even the rustle of ancestral prey in the brush.
Koda is probably just grinning a bemused feline grin, his own moment more of a pleased...
..."I told you so."
