Nice, I really like the character design. I've rigged a 3D model to be rigged for head and mouth tracking (the one in my icon, actually) but I never understood how you'd turn a 2D drawing into it. Just out of curiosity, while I know you didn't rig it, was the character split into many different layers/parts or something? I've sort of worked with a program that could automate it from that and I've always been curious.
That's right, each part is a separate layer which moves around accordingly. The commissioner used Live 2D Cubism to rig it.
While I haven't rigged much of anything myself, it is still a bit similar when I animate my drawings since I have to separate the parts out into individual layers as well.
