Piano piece, "Tribute to Chopin", written about 2 years ago.
Chopin is a great musical influence to me, so this piece was written in a psuedo-chopinistic style, to see if I could do it.
I enjoyed working on it, at least, and am still rather proud of it.
Thank you! Of course, Sibelius doesn't recognise where Rubato would be placed. It's some of my better work!
Oh, not a Sibelius user? Eurgh, I was forced to use Sibelius in college and I hated every second of it. I've always used Finale for scoring and my music teacher took a LOT of persuading for me to complete my work with it. XD
I adore Sibelius. I tend to find that people that use FInale dislike Sibelius, and vice-versa. I don't know, I prefer the point-and-click simplicity of the system, and the soundbanks in Sibelius 6 are quite wonderful. Sibelius 3 and 4 are awful, but their what most colleges/universities use because it's cheap to buy them in bulk.
Sib 6 is a wonderful piece of kit though!
I just found Sibelius so clunky, unresponsive and generally fairly buggy. Finale just always seemed smoother and easier to get what I wanted. We were using Sibelius 4 and the sound banks were woeful, as you say, and whereas Finale weren't much better in their still-kind-of-MIDI-ish sort of way, it just seemed to respond more intelligently to the ornaments on the score.
Either way, I'm afraid you may be right - I'll never start using Sibelius again and I don't anticipate you making the jump to Finale any time soon either! XD

I'm sure Frédéric would have been proud! Delightfully composed, a lovely listen. Splendid.
