This was an entry for the Off-White contest, in which you had to create a white and black spirit for a species of animal not shown in the comic.

I chose to do humpback whales as the spirits of harmony and discord, pertaining to sound and music specifically, because when one thinks of humpbacks one of the first things that comes to mind is their beautiful singing. The black spirit is of discord. He unfortunately is cursed with an awful, awful singing voice. The white spirit is harmony. It is said that his song is one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, sounds in the world. Both of their eye markings are musical symbols, the treble and bass clef respectfully.
