Living On by Kinnyfox

Living On

I still remember the day we first met,

You looked at me with caring eyes and a fox’s smile.

We made it through this incredibly long mile.

A day to remember; a day to regret,

When love knows no bounds and everything is set.

When memories fade and flesh becomes bone,

When the living become dead and the dead are home,

Will we still be together?

Will we still have those same silly looks on our faces,

All those years ago?

A day to remember; a day to forget.

A gamble on life; we’ve all made bets.

When the day is gone and done,

We’ll still be out there having fun,

Living On.

Living On

This is a poem...I wrote for my grandfather, who passed away in 2003. He was one of the strongest men I knew, and I have a mountain of respect for him.
