This is probably STILL my favorite chapter I got to work on. This is my concept piece for the final, which had the blind flying cave fish and blind cave eels animated. Lots of inspiration by Eyvind Earle.

In the game the map is covered in fog which you clear out by completing levels. I always try and design these maps so that even the artwork itself is a journey, so the colors start off calm and blue, and then as you find weirder items (like flying cave eels), the colors start getting more red and aggressive until you get to the end.

I also designed the border around the image.
