Holy shit Kiha actually drew something?! WHAT'S GOING ON?!

Even these are like a month old, oops. Like I mentioned in my last submission, and probably in a whole bunch of journals somewhere, I really haven't been drawing a whole lot lately, mostly because I simply haven't had the time with work and life and going on adventurous shenanigans with the boyfriend and such BUT YEAH.

On the upside, even though I don't really get a whole lot of time to work on artsy stuff, I HAVE found myself piddling around with some story ideas and getting back into creative writing! It's nice being able to write what I actually enjoy, though I'm rusty as hell since before I stopped for almost two years I'd spent like six doing nothing but write creepy furry smut that I didn't want to do for a very, very sad and disturbed human being, so it's taking some time to get back to my old style.

My current little project is a piece simply called GILLS, which is... Obviously inspired by my current obsession with mermaids. Mostly it involves a 20-something-year-old blatant self-insert (named Tieri Avalon because my name is Terri and I live on the Avalon peninsula and I am ttly origional uguize!1) who wakes up one day and finds gills sprouting out of her neck and she's simultaneously freaking out and being a grump about it. I have no idea where the story's going to go or how it's actually going to get anywhere or what the point of it even is, but it's been a great way to explore my mersona and figure out more about her personality, how she ticks, etc. It's going to be strictly written, so not a whole lot of illustrations/visuals most likely, but I found myself doing some doodles during a particularly slow shift at work a while ago and playing around with aspects of the character. It was also fun getting to play with facial expressions for once, instead of just that wonky half-baked look I usually give to a lot of the characters I used to draw...

I ramble in these submission descriptions a LOT when it's three in the morning. Oops.
