My half of an art trade For Kol-Lucien on DeviantART, featuring their OC Lucas!


This took longer than I had originally planned for due to IRL stuff, but this was hella fun to draw and paint! 😄


The cool part about this art trade was we would pick a character from a TH folder and had creative freedom! I like the idea, as it can lead to some interesting results. 


I decided to pick Lucas because his character design is just so unique and awesome! His hair was a bit of a challenge, but so far it came out nice! Had two different backgrounds, but the current one fits the character better. 


I hope y’all enjoy this one & thanks Kol-Lucien for the amazing opportunity to do this awesome art trade!

      Tysm!

      I was going for a more lighter mood background at first because I didn’t know how it would turn out, but the clouds and reddish tone fit the character more. Also I’ve been trying to do more shaded art rather than just doing flat colors. Might start doing some painted art once i get the hang of it.

        You're most welcome! :D

        I know, it's easy to fall into flat colors because it's "so quick" to do, but it's worth it to put in the time and effort for a full piece with backgrounds and shading. :)

            I try to do shading on just about everything I do digitally—I will wimp out and flat color more often with traditional. XD I have a semi-painty style that’s easy for me……so I never mind doing the lighting and shadows and n the digital format. :)
