Lanetal Exploration I by Kidakins

Lanetal Exploration I

Kidakins

"I just want to go to the nearest tavern, curl up next to a warm fire, and sleep," The anthro feline mumbled, hands lightly grasping at the mane of her mount and tugging weakly as her nose twitched, a potential sneeze on the horizon. A huff of air and the twitch of fluffy canine ears was the only response to her complaint as the large wolf continued trotting along, the glittering snow underfoot crunching with every step.

Sighing and looking up at the overcast sky, the rider mentally scolded herself for bringing Lanetal along on this particular expedition. The two of them had been trekking through forests and up mountains for days, only to come to a rather bland area with various stones and aged rock walls, with no tombs, treasures, or temples in sight. Even still, the young tokota was determined to find something of interest, having looped around his surroundings more than twice before continuing along a barely-visible path through the dilapidated structures.

"I really should have known better than to trust those drifters at the pub," Jacqueline growled, mostly to herself as she frowned up at the hazy sky. "The extravagant ruins they went on about are surely nothing more than rumors, just tales told by drunkards." The sneeze she felt earlier finally arrived in the midst of her ranting, and she tucked her head to the back of her tokota's neck, muffling the soft Pehcheew! The canine stopped in his tracks and looked back at her with an annoyed, sidelong glance. "What?!" She exclaimed, sitting up with a slight glare from her tired eyes. "It's cold and there's nothing of value in these dozens of useless piles of rock to help me feel all warm and fuzzy inside."

Lanetal ignored her words, turning his attention forward once more, his gaze thoroughly scanning each passing section of ruins as he continued along his path at a brisk pace. Closing her eyes, the feline laid her forehead to rest against the mane of her companion, huddling up against his thick fur to gather warmth. Another deep sigh left her after a small yawn, letting the oversized pup wear himself out by searching endlessly. She figured that he would either find something of interest after several hours, or he would eventually give up and take the both of them home, and there was nothing she could do to stop his one-track mind.

Another piece for lilwyverngirl down!! :D This time with writing! I haven't flexed my writing muscles in a while, so I wanted to try my hand at a little short story to go with this picture. :> Hopefully their personalities are close enough, hehe~ Wanna do these lovely characters justice. It's bad enough I'm struggling with getting the size differences to look correct, pfffttt.

Right, so... Hopefully I did this right to have it count for an exploration entry. :D Still new to Tokotas stuff.
