The collapse of Ghesera's magical leylines caused a global catastrophe that radically altered the planet. The dragons were angry - many were betrayed by their own god, many more were desolated by the collapse of their grand society and their very livelihood. The dragons, already divided by differing opinions and growing animosity, finally went their own ways.

A sect of dragons retreated to distant continents. A number of dragons chose to attack the mortals out of spite and rage and a hunger for magic.

And some dragons saw the dire situation as an opportunity to seize the world and transition Ghesera from an age of gods to an age of dragons.
They were briefly successful...

ohohohooo so dramatic.
I might enjoy stories of mass destruction.
And angry dragons.
