"Short Film" -- Page 3

Dylan gets Rhia's drift pretty quickly, but alas, what a clumsy pup!

"Short Film" is a comic I worked on in 2010 with Tempe O'Kun, who is also known for writing "Sixes Wild". We wanted to do something short'n'cute for HEAT that year (published by Sofawolf), so of course, corgis were the natural subjects!

Silly pups! If there's one thing you always have to watch carefully when you're making porn, it's balls!

The thumbnails don't make it even vaguely apparent that these are comics. Cropping (at all) smaller than the biggest possible size reduces viewers' ability to decide if they want to see the stuff, and your views end up suffering for it because people just don't click. Hopefully Weasyl fixes the thumbnail system sometime soon. It's been "on the list" for over a year.

Hm, that's a good point, especially since the titles don't show up on the Submission preview page. I will definitely take this into consideration, and maybe upload custom thumbnails for comics. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

The biggest thing people can do to get happier viewers here and more overall views and watches is to avoid cropping their thumbnails. At least then there's a small chance that people can tell what it is and make the educated decision to view it. I sometimes wonder if Weasyl peeps put the Thumbnail system there as a trap as opposed to just a bad choice. :(

I'm not sure what motivation they'd have to make any aspect of the site a "trap". I imagine it was just an idea they thought people would find appealing, and I don't think they're entirely wrong. I still see it as a style on artists' websites, and I even see some FA users who upload cropped thumbnails. Granted, the style's popularity seems to have peaked something like five or eight years ago, and I do agree that it doesn't offer a very comprehensive preview of an image. I don't think there's any malicious intent behind the cropping, but I'd also like to see an option to thumbnail the entire image.

I'd also like it if my b/w thumbs didn't inexplicably darken after I upload them. Wat.

Lovely stuff! We need more feral comics like these! Your stuff is absolutely gorgeous!

Even though they aren't supercorgis? ;D

        All corgies are supercorgis ^^

Will you post the rest of the comic here? Pr is it only three pages long / only available for purchase?

    • Link

I will be! I have two more pages to upload, I'm just spacing them out over today and tomorrow :)

        Cool. Thank you a lot!

You can also buy it in print here: https://www.sofawolf.com/products/heat-8

Or we'd sign it for you at a convention. ; )

          • Link

As much as i'd love to have it signed, i'm afraid i won't be able to attend any US-conventions. The flight from Germany to the US is a tiny bit expensive. But thank you a lot for the sofawolf link.

            • Link

If you're in Germany, it would be far cheaper to buy it from Sofawolf's European distributor, BlackPaw. http://www.blackpaw.de/shop/index.php

Heat 8 is out of stock at the moment, but if you ask them I'm sure they can email you when it's in stock again. : )

Aww, now there's gonna be no film :(

    • Link

That just means they'll have to do another take. ;3

        An excellent point. ; )
