This was meant to see if I could color "gold" things digitally...and make it look "gold" and not yellow-ish. Do you think I succeeded.

I don't believe I have any Stephan Blackheart pics here...or any "Shin Unmei Sentai Juuranger"/"Juuranger Supreme" art for that matter. In short...a very, VERY old furry sentai story I did. In the first part...Stephan, a Gryphon, was aligned with the enemy, he wanted to bring the Immortal Breeds back into the world and save the woman he loved (Hikari/Kurayami--the Phoenix). After the woman he loved sacrificed her life to save him from the darkness, he lost his way...until the power of light found him, and he joined the sentai team that he once fought against.

Most of the Juuranger helmets were designed with showing what animal they were...so I don't know if you can tell this is a Gryphon or not. chuckle (cough notthatIwasinfluencedbyDairangeroranything cough) And I can't figure out how to draw lightning. headdesk

Oh wow, this is amazing! I really like the detail of this, especially with the visor! I think the stuff already looks fairly gold, but something I learned recently myself is that gold is very warm! It looks like you shaded the 'shadow' part with black- gold has more of a brown base to its shadow, with just lowlights of black depending on the lighting I think? Obviously there's variability, some gold looks more 'warm' (brown) than others, but I always thought that was really neat to think of! uvu

Awwww! Thanks so much! I used the little "color square" that comes up when you choose a color on the wheel and went inwards towards the black/grey parts...as opposed to just moving down on the dark yellow side. I also decided to color the gold with an oil paint brush, instead of the pen/marker brush I usually use for coloring. :)

I love how the visor turned out too. I know a lot of sentai art will sweep a blurred white line where light glares on the visor (I used to do it too.....), I wanted to do something more painterly style!
