This small painting actually began as a birthday gift for a co-worker--I'd asked for a picture of her cat to make a small painting for her for her birthday..................and then her cat died (the kitty was 20 years old--which is really old for a kitty). So, for awhile I wasn't sure if I should still give it to her or not. Then after talking to other co-workers, they all agreed that I should, so I gave it to her as a Christmas present now.
She really liked it and put it up at her desk. :)
Every part of this was hand-made, pretty much--except using Washi tape for the "frame" of the drawing and the cover. For the protective cover on the front, I took an old comic book storage bag and attached it with double-sided tape--which isn't very noticeable against the dark Washi tape. The hanging cord I took some yarn and fingerwove a braided cord together. The painting itself is done in watercolors.
