I did this with a specified set of watercolors that are "metallic"--these are very thick metallic coating watercolors. They don't mix well with other plain watercolors or themselves, but they will work as a really good enhancement media for watercolors.

This particular brand I found at my local Hobby Lobby in the aisle with the Cricut machines and rubber stampers—as opposed to the actual art supply aisles. The brand is called “Art Philosophy”. I also have a Koi Watercolors (which is from the Sakura brand) set that has metallic colors, but they aren’t anywhere near as thick as these Art Philosophy watercolors.
It’s been fun to try and get used to paints again, I really haven’t used them since high school and that’s over 20 years ago! XD
