(unnamed nurse 'Pony)

keirajo

Back in 2015, when my mom went into the hospital before she passed away, I drew this "stand-up card" to place on her bedside table at the hospital.

https://www.weasyl.com/~keirajo/submissions/1159564/get-better-soon

Recently, during my cleaning and reoganizing stuff--I found the original card and I thought.......you know, let's make her part of my regular stable of MLP OCs, right? The design is pretty and I like it. So, I redid the design a little bit and made a new digitally colored version of her. I still don't have a name for her though--I've been thinking since I drew and colored it about a month ago, but I haven't come up with her name yet. If you have seen most of my MLP OCs, you know I tend to make most of my original 'Ponies with dessert or sweet drink names (well, except for Stellar Orbit and Little No Name--whose name is actually that he has NO NAME! XD). My adopt is also exempt from that naming because Spring Cherish was an adopt. chuckle

If anyone has a lovely suggestion for a nurse 'Pony name that seems suitable for her, please let me know and I'll take it into consideration. Once I have a name for her, I'll set up her gallery over on my Toyhou.se account. :)

MLP belongs to Hasbro, OC belongs to me.

      Thanks! :D

Usually names come easy to me, but I can't seem to find one that suits her yet--if you think of something let me know! :)

Oh gosh, this is really cute!

I'm glad you think so! I'm still trying to figure out a name and background for her, to fit amongst all my other 'Pony OCs! :D

That's always a toughy. I have characters that I have no information on, outside of their design. XD

I try to come up with what I can for my own original characters.........being given a Toyhou.se code/account helps me a lot to organize my OCs. When I get given/trade the adopts, I don't always have as many details as I should--usually because I know only basics of a species and their "universe"...........but I still love my adopts as much as I love my OCs, even when they don't have extensive biographies, and draw them just as often when I can! :D

My 'Pony OCs are all G1 setting--kind of between the first two specials (Rescue at Midnight Castle and Escape From Katrina) and the movie, so it's between life at Dream Castle and Paradise Estate. It almost feels like there's a few years between them--since none of those first 'Ponies exist and even Megan feels a year or two older between the specials and the movie, so I consider it "unexplored territory" to play in. :)

Oh gosh yeah. I don't have all that many characters but i struggle coming up with specifics. When i was younger i had more time to work that out but i haven't had much time for that these days so those that are underdeveloped sorta stay that way. (I opened up "Ask my characters" on my patreon so it would force me to think about them and draw stuff for them haha. XD )

Some of mine don't really have universes, they were just, made to sell, but dang i love their designs~

"Ask" things are always great for helping characters develop--sometimes people will ask questions you'd never have thought about your character's personality and everything. Wabi (besides Keira-Jo) is my most developed character for all details, but it makes sense since he's my "fursona" and Kei is my Sonic-sona........so, they have mostly my own personality traits and likes. :)

I totally understand that, too.........like my Pokemon University characters, I kinda just keep making them up as I go along. When I chose Rosemary as my PokeSona, I developed out her boyfriend and then her best friends and.........before I knew it, I had all these Pokemon OCs and I keep making more, so Rosemary's universe unintentionally became WAY BIGGER than I ever intended it to. It became a full-fledged "story universe". chuckle

Totally! I quite enjoy them ^_^

Oh gosh yeah. I can see getting carried away with it for sure hehe. Not necessarily a bad thing either. Gives characters a bit more substance to pull from when drawing them.

It's true! :D It seems that nowadays, when GameFreak throws a new Pokemon game at us, I almost feel like I need to create a character from the new Pokemon of that Region into my Pokemon University universe. It's actually a lot of fun. Galar Region came out and I had to narrow my choices down and settled on a Galar Ponyta--made her a child-genius, younger than all the rest. chuckle But I did create rules for my universe, so I even try to play by my own rules.........like evolutions of a Pokemon are their "ages" and some Pokemon that don't look good with "standard anthro forms" (many Bug-types, some cuter Ghost-types) are "pet Pokemon" of the anthro characters. Kind of like how Mickey Mouse has a DOG (Pluto). XD

Hehe~ Ever expanding! That's really cool! The ages thing totally makes sense.

I always was curious about how a mouse could have a pet dog but where there are anthro critters, there are usually pets. Seems to be pretty normal if sorta odd at first. Though really, it's not much different from humans and our pets. We are animals too after all.

                    • Link

True that! XD It's like, we're monkeys and we made pets of wolves, right?

I figure, we suspend our disbeliefs for many pop culture things--why not anthro animals have have pet animals? I did try to make my Pokemon University universe more "realistic" as I could--so, there are, ideally, a lot of Pokemon that wouldn't have good anthro forms and would be regulated to other "roles" in the universe. I also created uniforms for the university and have told people if they have anthro Pokemon OCs, they're always welcome to use the uniforms for their characters, too. So, my universe is semi-open ended like that. chuckle It is always fun to create the uniforms with differences for characters--so, there's a set uniform design (based on a general human shape), but certain characters can't be constricted with the full uniform.......like I have Haru (a Gallade) and because of the feeler-horns on his chest/back and his odd shaped arms, he can't ideally wear the dress shirt AND jacket without some serious modifications. That's also one of my fave fun things about furry art--since I went to a panel about clothing furries at FC one year--making clothing that suits the form and figure of a unique furry character. :D

                        Yeah! It's so strange sometimes.

Oh very true! Since it's fantasy there is certainly suspension of belief. It's still fun to poke at now and then hehe~

Aw that's really cool that you have it open like that and yes, designing outfits for different critters is quite fun and a challenge! So many bits and bobs to keep in mind on each! I think seamstresses/tailors would be highly revered in the furry world because how else would you get clothes to fit? There really is no one size fits all or even most!! XD

                        • Link

It is amusing to poke fun at those little things every so often. tee-hee

I imagine that seamstresses and tailors would be extremely rich in a furry world.........it would require a lot of ability to adapt to a lot of different forms and make the clothes look beautiful! It was very interesting, I read the "My Hero Academia" manga all the time and they actually spend a short chapter in a volume talking about clothing (not just the superhero costumes, everyday clothing!) for the people of that world and how there are specialists that get paid really well--and my thought was, THAT'S what a furry world would be like. :)

                          • Link

That is totally what I would expect too! That's all custom work for so many very different clients. It would be a HUGE business.

                              Most definitely! nods
