I don't know if you guys remember when I used to custom paint My Little Pony figures for people and stuff--it was primarily over at FA, then for like my first year here, too (as they overlapped). I've had a pretty stressful last few weeks and decided to do something besides my usual writing and drawing and reading things.

I'd been over at Barnes & Noble and saw that they began carrying the Flame Toys model kits--a few of which I'd managed to get from my comic shop before it closed. I thought to myself--I used to paint 'Ponies, what if I got this Thundercracker kit and repainted it to be Slipstream? I, personally, have been unhappy with the Slipstream Cyberverse figures--her purple and blue are EYE-BLINDING. The Japanese Legends figure is a recolor of Windblade. I have a tiny 3rd party figure (which is in the photos here, for comparison), but I thought I'd like to have a nice full-size figure...........and I would have to make it.

Well, the teal paint I'd chosen looked a bit lighter in the container I bought--I didn't expect it to be quite so dark when painted on the blue plastic. Also, my hands are not as steady as they used to be, so my painting lines are not..............really beautiful. But for something I simply did this weekend to relax, I thought it turned out really well. I thought I'd share it with you, because I'm pretty proud of it.........it was a bit more difficult than customizing 'Ponies--so it was a learning challenge. chuckle
