It depends. If they continue with the universe as its going, then the death will be permanent. But...if IDW issues a reboot of their universe (as Marvel and DC tend to do), then anything that happens now won't really matter. They shouldn't, because James Roberts, the writer of MTMTE has been winning awards for his writing on this comic..............but you know how companies can be. If there's more money to be had by starting back with a #1, they'll do it, regardless of what fans think. That's the problem with the big industries......... :/
Like Kyle Rayner seems to have disappeared from the DC Universe entirely. Two reboots ago he existed and since then he doesn't. It's annoying when the characters they dispose of are the ones you like or are attached to. :(

Ugh. That's one thing I really appreciate about anime/manga: one story with a beginning, middle and end! This "reboot" business is baloney.
I hope it'll turn out okay for your fave.

Yeah. I know companies now try to "refresh" their comics by starting with new #1's...in the hopes of getting new readers that simply won't start with #32 of a series. But they never consider how their loyal readers of years and years feel. Poor Arcanum has really hated DC for quite some time with what they did on all the Bat-titles the past few reboots. :/
