Another watercolor painting from my class!

[NOTE THIS IS OLD COLLEGE ART]

Here is a forest populated by skinned foxes and headless deer. I got this idea from how pissed I get when poachers go on my property at home and shoot the deer on it. They take the heads, but leave all the meat to rot, and that really pisses me off. Why? Because if you don't want the meat, you can donate it so needy families can have fresh meat. But no, they just got to take the heads and leave the rest to go to waste. I have nothing against trophy hunters that are responsible and make sure the rest of the carcass doesn't go to waste, but man screw poachers. Seriously.

And It also breaks my heart that some fur trappers still use inhumane traps so that the animal suffers. I'm not a crazy PETA nutjob or anything, but I don't like things to suffer, especially now that they've made traps that are more humane. So yeah, that's what's up with the skinned foxes there.

Sorry if I come off fairly strong on this, but as a fisherman/hunter myself, I was always raised to respect animals, minimize their suffering when you hunt/fish, honor the animal that you killed to nourish yourself, and to not let them go to waste. So yeah, it's an issue that hits really close to me, so here it is in painting form.

It's all watercolors, and I used a jar of India ink and a brush to do all the lines/details, and i did some detailing work with a gel pen.

Watercolors and India Ink on 20x23 inch Bristol board.
