Adamsi by Kannos

Adamsi

Kannos

A piece I did a while ago as part of a digital painting tutorial/walkthrough for a friend. It's a portrait of one of my dogs, Adamsi. He's a special needs (IMHA + epilepsy and brain damage) dog that I adopted last year from Iran. :)

This is amazing.. both the art and that you'd rescue such a "broken" dog.. wish more people were like you in rescue. :)

Aw, he's a cutie. What's it like taking care of him?

Caring for him requires some extra 'steps' but its not as bad as one would think. He eats a home cooked diet consisting of 85/15 ground beef and rice (brown or white) along with veterinary supplements (Balance IT) and is on Potassium bromide and Prednisone to keep his conditions under control. He needs to have the discharge from his eye (he has entropion) cleaned daily since surgery isn't an option due to his conditions. He also has only 12 out of 42 teeth so periodically he undergoes antibiotic therapy to keep his periodontal disease at bay since, again, anesthesia is a no-go and his nervous tic would make anesthesia-free cleaning impossible. I brush his teeth daily to help keep them from deteriorating more. Other than that he's pretty normal and enjoys belly rubs, head pats, and long walks. He also really loves to snuggle! :)
