Denizen of the Forest

Kalylia

This is the first image I ever had done of my fursona, Kalylia.

Art done by Danboyya2000 on FurAffinity.

Prepare for an overabundance of information on the character design and myself by proxy.

I chose to finally settle on a species of rabbit for my fursona. After going through tons of unusual species, I finally decided that the symbolism that the rabbit brings was more important to me, personally, than finding a very unique species. (Though I absolutely plan on adding a few more characters to the roster to fill in some of those interesting species.) In the Chinese zodiac, the rabbit's motto is "I prevail." I have personally had a very difficult life, and throughout it all, I've managed to somehow pull myself through. Rabbits are also symbols of new life and fertility, both of which I find personally symbolic. They are creatures symbolically tied with Spring, amethysts, yin energy, and the color teal.

The very stark and striking design of her appearance is also symbolic. I have Borderline Personality Disorder, which I've symbolized through the bold coloration of my fursona's face. (I do not have multiple personalities.) The swirls throughout the rest of her fur represent how the parts of me combine together to form something very unique.

The brown in her fur represents a sense of being down-to-earth. Brown is a strong, solid color that represents steadfastness and dependability. The silver in her fur gives a feminine energy, much like the yin of the Rabbit zodiac. It is fluid, emotional, mysterious, and sensitive, the opposite of the brown that marks the other side of her face. The cream (a combination of white and yellow) represent an inner joy and an amount of purity that has not been able to be stamped out of me. Her blue eye represents tranquility, nonconfrontationalism, honesty, and sincerity. It is the subdued side of my personality. Her purple eye, however, represents my impulsiveness and creativity. It is a color of spirituality, imagination, fantasy, and inspiration.
