I am so happy with this, you guys have no idea c: I'm so happy that I don't even know what I should be saying in this part thingy.

This piece is going in my portfolio - as of now, anyways. I guess I'll try to explain what I was thinking when I concocted this ^^

Basically, I am a feminist. Not the bra-burning, man-hating kind, but the kind that supports equality (and if you looked up "feminist", that's the definition you should be getting). I feel like I have to clarify that though, because so many people hear "feminist" and think "man-hater". Not synonymous, but that's a lecture for a different time.

Anyways, I got the idea of Topaz putting on war paint and looking all badass, etc., but I didn't know what I wanted her other arm to be doing. I tried a variety of neutral poses for it, but nothing looked right. I toyed with her holding a gun, but I don't know how to draw those, and I wanted this to be kickass, not violent. That's pretty much when I remembered that the phrase "put on your war paint" is often used in the feminist movement (even though it usually refers to makeup). And hey, I'm a feminist. And I remembered a character on the powerpuff girls one time that was all about female empowerment...and she carried a great big "Feminism Gender Symbol Emoticon" thingy as a weapon...so, all of that came together to finally give me something for Topaz to hold!

This was so much fun to do, omg. I'm sorry to people who expected commissions tonight, but hell, I'm so proud of this ^^ I hope you guys like it too :)

One last note; please don't send all that "feminists are evil" and "go make me a sandwich" crap my way for this. I am expressing how I feel about the current condition of the world, and whether or not you agree with me, you should be able to respect my views. (Not that I would expect any kind of hate from you guys; you're all so wonderful and great :))
