Other info: Apato Beasts are the large, bulky transports of Wing Haven. Their size and corresponding strength makes them ideal for use as beasts of burden. Whether carrying trade goods, weapons or armor, or personal stuff, they can carry most anything. They are sometimes used for personal or public transportation. The use of the apato is vast indeed. They may be slow, and they may not be very smart, but they are diligent in their tasks.
One would think with their lack of scales or armor or defense, the apato would be a vulnerable target to predators. While that's true to a certain extent, they're not wholly without protection. Apatoes have their own ways to defend themselves. Since their immense size gives them strength, they are living blunt weapons. Whether by crushing enemies underfoot, or by slamming something with their large--albeit fluffy--tails, they are strong to be sure.
