This gives another, farther view of the Bright Angel Fault and Trail. You can still see the previously mentioned 3Mile Resthouse and Indian Gardens, but now Plateau Point is viewable as is the northern side of the canyon across the Colorado River (not visible) that runs through the middle. In elevation from the southern rim to PP, is 4,000FT in elevation difference, and the river is about a thousand feet down more from there, lending it about a mile in elevation difference. From rim to rim at the farthest point in the canyon is about 18 miles in width.
