Yes, everything on that round piece of cardboard is sugar, or well..isomalt (sweetener used for diabetic/sugar free candies). Wouldn't suggest eating it, stuff will have you on the pot in no time.

Just showcasing some of the work that I did in my Advanced Pastry class during this spring semester (sorry for the bad photo, no real way to showcase it in school kitchen). We made boiled and pulled sugar and were given the objectives of having:

  • 1 base
  • 2 poured geometric shapes
  • 3 flowers
  • 5 leaves
  • 1 ribbon, w/ at least 3 colors

With that in mind, we were given total freedom as to what to do, and this is what I came up with! The 'theme' that ended up happening didn't really come together until about midway through it all, but I wanted the brighter colors for sure. Really happy with how the ribbon, let alone bow, turned out and even got serious compliments from my instructor.
Who knows, maybe I'll implement sugar sculpting into my career sometime in the future~!

I wouldnt suggest eating it x3 the stuff used for this isnt actually sugar but a sweetener used for diabetic candies. Too much will give you an upset stomach and have you visiting the bathroom frequently
