This was a black wolf/fox/coyote/dog tail I made for myself several years back.

It's made of a really sturdy fur, which won't mat or clump over time. It only needs very occasional brushing. The stuffing comes out so you can wash it easily, even in a washing machine (cold water only). You could go swimming with this thing and it would be fine as long as you removed the stuffing to let it dry!
