ɤ ›PERSONALITY:
Winifred is a complicated girl in the most simple of ways. She is creative in what she does, which has helped in with her spoiled lifestyle. When she was young, she would often go to one parent to ask for something, such as a sweet, then to the other and get two in the process. This thinking has stayed with her, and she is always on the search for cunning ways to get what she wants.

Despite her more selfish attitudes, Wynn is a naturally caring person. She hates to see other people cry and is a very good listener. She will rarely go up and approach someone, even if they appear to need help, because of her shyness. This is bypassed when someone seems to be hurt, as she had a natural affinity for healing magic and can't stand to see anyone in real pain.

With no talent on a broomstick, Wynn still managed to have a fair bit of athletic ability or potential. This is undermined by her inability to play in teams. She just doesn't like to do it, so in her muggle schools, she preferred sports such as track, or dance that were more individualized that meant she wouldn't have to rely on others. More importantly, it meant that no one had to rely on her either.

In conversation, Wynn can sometimes come off as a little awkward. She doesn't always know what to say, and sometimes, she'll laugh at the wrong time or not the get the joke at all. But she is always willing to learn and has a desire to know everything.

One final note, Wynn loves to complain. She's good at it and she almost always manages to find fault with something, but does not do it aloud. Nearly every night, she writes in a journal and pours out her complaints of the day so that she can start the next day fresh.

ɤ ›HISTORY:

Winifred, or Wynn, was born and grew up in the english town of Kirkham. Most of her neighbors were wizarding families, but the majority of the town is of muggle population, so the young witch learned how to hide magic early, even if she didn't really understand why. Her parents are both of pure blood, though one is a closeted squib.

As an only child in her family, and first grandchild for either side, she was quite spoiled as a child. While now, she is used to having her way and getting what she wants, she has grown and doesn't expect everyone to bend to her whim without question.

The addition of her adopted sister, at the age of six, was received with many a tantrum on Wynn's part until she settled in to things. She still doesn't like sharing, but has learned that it's a necessary part of life.

When attending muggle schools, which her parents insisted on, she excelled in classes that involved creativity, such as english or kinesthetic learning, such as music. On the other hand, she had a very difficult time grasping math and scientific concepts. Until the age of eleven, and she left the muggle school system to begin studying at Hogwarts, she was tutored so that she might keep up with her muggle classmates.

Throughout her childhood, the majority of Wynn's holidays were spent at her grandparents manor in the countryside of Scotland. Her Pilkington grandparents (mother's side) highly encouraged all attempts at magic, and broomstick practice so that she might one day play Quidditch. The pressure put on her was difficult, since Winifred did not understand what being a squib meant or that her grandparents were trying to somehow prevent it. She did learn that she had a strong affinity for household magic, mostly used for cleaning, she had difficulty grasping much else and has no talent on a broomstick.

Wynn's spoiled mentality and mild shyness resulted in difficulty making friends. Throughout her childhood, she found it easier and more pleasurable to interact with pets as opposed to people. She received her own pet, a sugar glider, on her tenth birthday. She christened it 'Merlin' for her middle name, Nimue, feeling that it linked them together.

The young witch's first year at Hogwarts was a difficult one. Until she'd attended the school, she hadn't truly realized how difficult most magics were for her. This resulted in her getting to know her teachers quite well, and she began to to strive to excel and help others who share her difficulties.

Vivian (Pilkington) Blackyear: Wynn’s mother is born of pureblooded wizards, however she is a squib. She has strived to perform magic all her life, to no avail. This is not known publicly to preserve her image, and has her husband help her fake basic magic when company comes to visit. Her parents were thankful that a pureblooded wizard was even willing to marry her. Vivian is social butterfly that loves to do community work in the muggle world, as it’s easier to not have to worry about faking magic in those situations.

Thomas Blackyear: Wynn’s father was also born of two pureblooded wizards, of Scottish decent. He personally did not care a whole lot for blood, which was part of the reason he met Vivian. His parents had met some local pureblooded wizards who had moved to the countryside and were hoping to find a husband for their pureblooded daughter, even if she was a squib. The marriage was arranged after a short courtship, and by the time Wynn was born, the two were in a loving marriage. Thomas is a soft-spoken man who works at St. Mungos, primarily in the line of reversing curses.

Marla Blackyear: Wynn’s six year old adopted sister. She is a squib that was cast out by her birth parents, and taken in. It wasn’t until Wynn entered Hogwarts that she actually learned and understood the differences between muggles and squibs. Marla is a boisterous young girl, who loves to be the center of attention and has a love for the color purple that borders on obsession.
