Maiden of the Floating World by Kacey

Maiden of the Floating World

Kacey

A piece I did in the style of the Ukiyo-e woodblock prints, which is something I've wanted to do for a while, and because of the theme for FCN, I had the chance to do it =). A kitsune geisha in a kimono and a natural setting seemed like a good choice. The writing in the upper right says Ukiyo-e no Otome, or Maiden of the Floating World. (although more literally maiden of the pictures of the floating world, as Ukiyo-e is the word used to describe the art style of the time)

Done with micron inks, and acrylic paints on 8"x10.5" illustration board.

This is fantastic. It is so well done that it looks completely digital. I love the motif on the kimono and obi.
