You know those stories about Representative Transformation you've always heard about on the news? Where people begin to shift into new forms which are more adapted to their surrounding environments? Well, it's something which can occur if your lifestyle habits are just a tad excessive. Old Ken over here, never paid too much mind to those PSA's growing up. His way of living never veiled a threat of any stark physical changes that he's heard others experience.

Well, until a couple of months ago this was the case at least... After graduating from college, and moving out on his own for the first time, he's begun to truly revel in the lifestyle of single living. During the summer break, he's been taking it easy, and just letting loose. No need to do laundry, no need to shower every day to keep roommates happy, nah, he spent most of his day lounging around and foraging for whatever junk he could find at the corner store. Unfortunately after a couple of weeks without bathing, and a regular habit of scavenging for food in the quick sale sections (gotta tighten the belt somehow, when you're living on only about enough to pay the rent). His environment and habits have triggered a new development in his physical biology.

It started out gradually at first, thicker pit hair, shaggier legs, but slowly, yet surely, his appearance began to slowly depart the realm of human. One of the most difficult parts of representative transformation, is that the victim is so immersed in their lifestyle, that they usually tend to fail to notice the signs. And Ken is no exception. Living on his own, and limiting his outside contact to the corner store and the pizza guys, few have been able to interfere and potentially sway the changes. Of course, during his last weekend of binging and lounging, the bigger changes have begun to take hold.

As he slept off a rigorous night of gaming and a non-stop Monty Python marathon, the slow spread of musky fur which had been traveling inch by inch up his leg has finally reached his spin. As he slept, his spine creaked and stretched jutting out roughly, as each new bone popped into existence. His tail flexed and curled upward tickling around the nape of his neck, before the dark hair which had covered his legs, began to sprout and grow over each inch of the new appendage's surface. Strangely, it seemed that another color was mixing in with the black fur. A sharp contrast of white began to spread across the top of his tail, as they took on a very familiar pattern.

Up until this point, it wasn't quite obvious what kind of animal Ken might be turning into. But as the striped tail grew and spread into that familiar bushy shape, it became obvious. The new tail squirmed and fought for space under the sheets. As it curled against Ken's back, the fur brushed against the nape of his neck, tickling him up into consciousness. Groggily, he rustled under the covers and rested his paws on the debris covered floor.

Running his fingers through his greasy hair, he noticed an aroma much stronger than he'd been used to. It wouldn't be long before he realized that the covers were still covering a strange new part of him. The fur bristled as his new tail raised into it's new position.

It wouldn't be long before he noticed the new appendage which cradled against his back. Then the changes would kick into full gear. But for now, the future skunk man, opened his eyes, as his familiar nest finally shifted into focus. For some reason, he had the feeling that it was going to be a very interesting day.

Hehe, I love the unaware moments during tfs, nothing quite like a change really sneaking up on ya^^ This was a little something that I thought up a couple of weeks ago, and decided to flesh out onto here.

I've actually done a little experimenting on the background of this one, after accidentally discovering an interesting overlay trick=3 So instead of the usual color palate that I work with, everything except the main character (tail excluded) has a greenish hue to it=3

Heh, who knows why his world suddenly took this new shade? Maybe his new appendage permeated such massive quantity of skunky stench, that the entire room is now filled with a green haze. Ah well, at least his territory is thoroughly covered=3 Hopefully the neighbors won't mind too much.
